What is Newton's First Law of Motion and How Does it Apply to Everyday Life?
Newton's First Law of Motion, also known as the Law of Inertia, states that an object at rest will remain at rest, and an object in motion will remain in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. This law can be observed in everyday life, such as a ball rolling on the ground which stops due to friction. In South Africa, Grade 9 students learning about this law in Physics can relate it to the motion of vehicles on the road.
